Frequently Asked Questions
Got questions? We've got answers. If you don't see what you're looking for, give us a call — we're happy to help.
Do you offer free estimates?
+
Yes! All our estimates are completely free and come with no obligation. We provide a clear, written quote before starting any work so you know exactly what to expect.
What areas do you serve?
+
We serve a wide range of neighborhoods and cities across the region. Visit our Service Areas page for a complete list of locations we cover. If you're unsure whether we serve your area, give us a call.
Are you available for emergencies after hours?
+
Absolutely. Rooter Express provides true 24/7 emergency plumbing service — including nights, weekends, and holidays. When you call (818) 724-2206, a real person answers and dispatches a technician immediately.
How fast can you respond to an emergency?
+
We dispatch immediately when you call. Response time depends on your location and current technician availability, but we aim to arrive as quickly as possible — often within an hour.
What types of plumbing services do you offer?
+
We handle everything from routine maintenance to major installations: sewer and drain cleaning, trenchless sewer replacement, water heater repair and replacement, gas line repair, water and gas leak detection, pressure regulator service, video camera sewer inspections, copper repiping, earthquake shut-off valves, and emergency repairs. See our Services page for full details.
Are your plumbers licensed and insured?
+
Yes. Every technician we send is fully licensed, bonded, and insured. We carry comprehensive liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage — your home and your peace of mind are protected.
What payment methods do you accept?
+
We accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards. We can also discuss payment plans for larger projects — just ask when you get your estimate.
Do you offer any warranties on your work?
+
Yes. We stand behind our work with a satisfaction guarantee. Specific warranty terms vary by the type of service performed, and we'll explain the warranty coverage in detail before we start your job.
What is trenchless sewer replacement?
+
Trenchless sewer replacement is a modern method that replaces your old sewer line without digging a massive trench across your property. We use pipe bursting or cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining to install a new pipe through small access points. It's faster, cleaner, and often more cost-effective than traditional excavation.
How do I know if I have a water or gas leak?
+
Signs of a hidden water leak include unexplained high water bills, damp spots on walls or floors, the sound of running water when nothing is on, and low water pressure. Gas leaks may produce a rotten egg smell, hissing sounds near gas lines, or dead vegetation along the gas line path. If you suspect either, call us immediately.
Can you handle commercial plumbing as well?
+
Yes. In addition to residential service, we handle commercial plumbing for businesses, restaurants, apartment buildings, and property management companies. Our team is equipped for larger-scale commercial jobs and understands the unique requirements of commercial plumbing systems.
What should I do while waiting for emergency service?
+
If you have a water leak or burst pipe, shut off the main water valve to your home immediately — this is usually located near the water meter or where the main line enters your house. For gas leaks, evacuate the property and call us from a safe distance. Never try to repair a gas leak yourself.
